Jax is a premier scaling duelist and split-pusher. He excels at extended trades due to , can ignore all basic attacks with , and becomes incredibly tanky in fights using . He wants to jump on you, stun you, and beat you down with high attack speed.

| Jax's attacks get faster and his hands glow brighter | The longer the fight goes, the more attack speed he gains. Do not take extended 1v1 trades against unless you are significantly ahead. | |
| A long-range leap onto a target | His primary gap closer and escape tool. He can jump to enemies, allies, or wards. If he uses to engage, he has no way out for several seconds. | |
| His lamp post glows with blue/purple energy | An auto-attack reset that deals bonus magic damage. He will often use this immediately after a basic attack or during his leap for burst. | |
| Jax spins his weapon over his head | He dodges ALL incoming basic attacks for 2 seconds and reduces AoE damage by 25%. It ends with a stun. This is his most important ability; bait it out or you lose every trade. | |
| Jax creates a shockwave and gains a protective aura | Passive: Every 3rd hit deals bonus magic damage. Active: Deals AoE damage and gives him massive Armor and Magic Resist based on his AD/AP. Don't burst him while the aura is active. |
