What They Do
Area-denial mage who uses seeds to spawn plants that poke and slow you. She wants to root you with and drop her full combo to burst you down while her plants shred your health. Extremely high lane pressure but very squishy and immobile.
Abilities (What to Watch For)

Respect
- !The through minions→Unlike many supports, her root passes through minions. Standing in your wave does not protect you from being caught and bursted.
- !Plant Aggro→Plants will focus you if you are hit by her spells or if she auto-attacks you. Their damage adds up fast and can easily trigger Liandry's or Rylai's.
- !Level 6 All-in→A full into -Wait- combo can 100-0 most ADCs and Enchanters. If you get rooted post-6, you must Flash or use a defensive active immediately.
- !Bush Camping→Zyra is the queen of 'death bushes.' She can spawn 4+ plants and ult before you can even react if you face-check her.
Punish
- +is on cooldown (12s flat)→This is her only way to stop you from killing her. If she misses the root, she is a walking 300 gold. All-in her immediately.
- +Low Seed Count→Zyra is useless without seeds. If she just used two charges to poke, she has to wait ~20 seconds to get them back. Pressure her while she lacks 'ammo'.
- +Level 1 Weakness→Zyra cannot spawn plants until level 2 (unless she waits for RNG). Bully her at level 1 to gain a health advantage before she can start her zone control.
- +Immobility→She has zero dashes and low base movement speed. If she pushes up to poke, ping your jungler. She is one of the easiest targets to gank in the game.
Laning Tips
- •Step on seeds whenever it's safe! It takes 1 second of standing on them to destroy them, which severely limits her plant spawn options.
- •Melee champions execute plants with one auto-attack; ranged take two. Kill the plants quickly or they will out-trade you even if Zyra misses her spells.
- •The plants spawned by have a shorter range but apply a slow. If she misses the root but spawns the plant, don't let it touch you or you'll be stuck in her range.
- •If you get targeted by plants, walk out of their range immediately to reset their aggro. Don't just stand there and tank them while farming.
- •Zyra's is a fixed rectangle. Always walk horizontally (left or right) rather than backward to escape the hitbox more reliably.
- •In the support matchup, pick high-range poke (Xerath/Lux) to out-range her plants, or hard engage (Leona/Nautilus) to blow her up the moment is used.
Teamfight Warning
- âš Do not fight in tight jungle corridors. Her can cover the entire path, making it impossible to escape the knockup.
- âš Focus the plants during the enrage if you can't get out. Enraged plants do significantly more DPS than Zyra herself in a long fight.
- âš Watch for her 'Flash-E' play. She will try to catch your carries off-guard to start a fight. Keep the area warded so she can't flank.
- âš If you see the indicator, you have 2 seconds to get out. Use dashes or movespeed buffs immediately; do not wait for the 'contraction' animation.
- âš Assassins should wait for her to burn on the frontline before diving her. Without it, she cannot stop you from one-shotting her.
